It’s so lovely to see the veggie farmers at @alnarpsfarm wearing Hori Hori knives from us! Exited to see them in action this season, planting, weeding, harvesting and more. I hope this tool will make the work on the farm even more fun and a little easier 🌷
The farm is located on the land of @slu.sweden, Swedish university of agricultural science where I studied horticulture ten years ago.
So happy to see this Hori Hori in action, harvesting last years parsnip. Saving root vegetables in the soil over winter, a smart way to store them.

#Repost @silfvernagel ・・・ Vilken underbar helg.
In addition to fixing my hair this Monday, I have started to investigate more about the production of the packaging material I use. Throughout the development of our hori hori, I have been incredibly careful with all the raw materials and processes involved in the production of the garden knife. When we chose cardboard, we wanted a practical and stylish, environmentally friendly solution and as little material as possible. After all, it’s the knife you wanted to buy, not the packaging, right? We chose an e-commerce box, large enough to hold a knife and a sheet of kraft paper. As simple as possible! And FSC certified! But then I read an article on @svenatur about working conditions in the cardboard industry and realized that I didn’t actually know the origin of the raw materials or which country the cardboard was produced in! So now I’ve sent an email to my cardboard supplier and hope to have an answer soon! Thank you for reading this far!
FSC stands for Forest Stewardship Council and is intended to ensure:
* Environmental and social responsibility: This means consideration for biodiversity, ecological values, and working conditions. * Traceability: Companies must be certified to show that the material is separated from uncontrolled timber. * Swedish standards: Developed in collaboration with the environmental movement, the forestry industry, and Sami representatives.
Hello 2026! Hands up if you like me just ordered seeds for the new garden season! 😬
What are you most longing for to grow this year? I’m starting with the chili seeds 🌶️
My favorite it the little darling Aji Amarillo. It’s very common in chile and goes well with one of my favorite dishes Cevice. It’s yellow, fruity and a bit citrusy, it got just the right spiciness and is very beautiful. And the smell is amazing. But I will have some more varieties of course. Witch one is your favorite and why?

Hello from Santa 🤶 Last week before Christmas. Make sure to order your Hori Hori in time. I hope this garden tool can be your new bestie while planting, digging, sowing and enjoying your garden. It’s my first ”talk to the camera” reel so be gentle 🤗
The Hori Hori is great for harvesting and chopping of roots! In this video Alexander is cleaning up a bed and before using the bcs tractor he removes all the salads that are left. By chopping of root it will be less material that he will need to carry inside.
Of course the Hori Hori is great for harvesting in spring and summer as well, with the same technique.
Last Friday I went on a little roadtrip to meet Courney and Alexander who, in addition to working with Katarina at @andebolsgard (and doing a PhD), also run @birgittas.tradgard outside Nyköping. What a luxury to hang out with them for a while and hear how they use hori hori in their job as veggie growers. Thank you for having me🙏
Do you have a Hori Hori? Are you interested in inviting me to come and shoot some pictures at your place and give me some inspiration and input on the Hori Hori knife?
